Failure is the key to success; each mistake teaches us something.”

About Us

Northern Alberta Aikikai is an aikido club that began from a humble origin.  Formed in 2003 in what is affectionately called the Wood Shed, Tom Davidson Sensei started with a small group of aikidoka who were looking for a place to train and to further their martial arts experience.  The club has since grown out of that first home and now has an increasing membership with dedicated students and instructors.  We provide a fun, dynamic, safe and respectable training environment.

Northern Alberta Aikikai is a non-profit dojo that works toward making the martial art of aikido affordable to all but with an emphasis on quality training.  We are affiliated with Hombu Dojo in Japan through Frank Doran Shihan of the California Aikido Association.

Through our classes, students will learn about aikido from a variety of instructors, each bringing their own style, but still following the guidelines and teachings of Osensei.
